Routines

I will keep this short and sweet because as I type it, my bedtime is closing in. And my sleep is one of the routines that I take pretty seriously.

But today, I want to tell you about the morning routine that I have established that makes my days peaceful, pleasant, and productive.

I wake up, journal, exercise, shower, and get ready, then coffee and whatever the day holds.

This routine helps me set my intentions and solidify my plan for the day. I use the Project You Possibilities Planner I developed for my clients, but you can use any notebook.

My journaling includes writing out my goal (yes, every day), listing the things I’m grateful for, setting my intention for the day, planning my food, and doing a brain dump to get all my thoughts out on paper.

Journaling really helps me dial in on what I want my day to look like and what will move me toward my goal.

One of the most important things about my routine is that I don’t allow any “outside voices” before I start getting ready for the day. I don’t check email, social media, or the news; I use that time to look inward and decide how I want my day to go.

I plan out my week on Sundays, but I review my day each morning before I start.

My morning routine is how I create that day that will help me build the life I want.

If this sounds like too much to implement tomorrow, you can start building your routine by waking up 5 – 10 minutes early, taking a few deep breaths, and setting your intentions for the day. And limit the outside voices you allow before deciding how you want your day to go.
